I understand that one of the motivations for the recent decision by the Desertec Foundation to pull out of the Desertec Industrial Initiative was that they didn’t want the Foundation associated with bad publicity.
If so, that move was rather counterproductive. It has caused a lot of bad headlines.
One of those is at the “Responding to Climate Change” website, and it talks about “Desertec’s collapse.”
Of course Desertec as a project has not collapsed. The Foundation has left the Industrial Initiative, which might matter if the Foundation had anything of value to contribute in the first place to actually getting something done.
I am not convinced that is the case.
