EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard just announced that the EU will refrain from enforcing the new rules for international aviation requiring carbon emission permits for a part of international flights for one year.
Hedegaard says there is a chance for an international solution now, so the EU will back off as a sign of good will.
I guess that means it will take another year or two until this blows up into an international trade war grounding American airlines.
