Yomiuri reports about an interview with Shunichi Tanaka, the chief of the newly formed Nuclear Regulation Authority.
He says there will be no restarts before summer of next year, since the new NRA needs to work out new safety standards first.
As mentioned before, under the new “Revolutionary Energy Strategy” recently approved by Cabinet, no restarts will happen without safety confirmation by the NRA. No safety confirmation will happen before they have their safety standards, which will take some time.
Anybody who thinks we will see quick restarts of nuclear power plants, like Matthew Hulbert, is clearly wrong.
